In certain cases the scholarship may also provide assistance for basic equipment required to participate in BCF sports. Scholarship Application

 

OVERVIEW

Barrow County Football Corp. (BCF) provides scholarships for registration fees to children, who without financial assistance would be unable to participate in BCF sports programs. In certain cases the scholarship may also provide assistance for basic equipment required to participate in BCF sports. BCF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with limited funding available for scholarships. No guarantee of assistance is implied by this application. BCF does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability in its program and activities.

 

ELIGIBILITY 

Requirements for eligibility:

• Athletes must be of eligible age to participate in a BCF Sports Program

• Parents/Guardians commit that the athlete will attend a minimum of 90% of all scheduled

practices and games.

• Parents/Guardians agree to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours, per scholarship recipient, with a maximum of 8 hours per family per calendar year. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Please provide all information required to help BCF determine qualifications. Scholarship consideration will be given to families that meet the following criteria:

• Provide a copy of your IRS form 1040 from the recent tax year. Income limit of $40,000

• Provide 1-2 references 

• Provide a written statement of immediate financial hardship explaining the current situation. Please provide any supporting documentation that may support the facts in your financial hardship statement.

• Complete the application process and read and sign the Terms and Conditions statement. 

 

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

• Please include if you receive assistance from programs such as: Food Stamps, Medicaid, SSI, Foster Care, WIC, etc. Must provide documentation of participation in these programs.


PROCEDURE
Scholarship requests must be submitted by May 1st by a parent/legal guardian with all requested information included to be considered. All items on the Scholarship Terms and Condition form must be signed and dated. Incomplete applications will automatically be denied.

Scholarship Terms and Conditions

“I”, “me” and “myself” refer to the adult scholarship application

  1. _____ By signing this form I certify that the information contained in the scholarship packet is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.

  2. _____ By signing this form I agree to be bound by the responsibility and expectations set forth in the scholarship packet, if I receive a scholarship.

  3. _____ I understand that this application does not register the athlete to participate with BCF. I understand the athlete must still be registered online.

  4. _____ I understand that I am required to meet eligibility, qualifications and deadline requirements to be considered for a scholarship award.

  5. _____ I understand that BCF considers each scholarship application on a case by case basis.

  6. _____ I understand that no guarantee of assistance is implied in this application and scholarships are awarded if funds are available.

  7. _____ I understand that the scholarship awarded (if any) may be a partial or full scholarship depending on the number of applicants, and amount of scholarship funds available. 

  8. _____ I understand that unless I am awarded basic equipment from BCF, I am financially responsible for any equipment and uniforms required for my child’s participation.

  9. _____ I understand that scholarship money will not be paid to the individual recipient, nor will any money be refunded to the individual recipient.

  10. _____ I understand that if any information provided during the scholarship application is deemed inaccurate, BCF may immediately terminate my child’s privilege to benefit from the school program, and in the case any information was intentionally false, I will repay BCF the full value of the scholarship awarded.

  11. _____ I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure my child(ren) attend 90% of all scheduled practices and games. 

  12. _____ I understand that if a scholarship is awarded to my child(ren), I am required to volunteer for 2 hours, per scholarship recipient, with a maximum of 8 hours per calendar year. Failure to satisfy this condition will disqualify me, my child(ren), and immediate family from being considered for another scholarship for up to 48 months. 

  13. _____ This scholarship is private, containing my personal information. and will not be shared with anyone outside of the BCF Board of Directors.
